Beautiful Start To Spring, But Snow Chances Return!

Hello Spring!

After what has been a very long Winter, today was a welcome site!  Gorgeous Spring sunshine and a near 60.  Tomorrow looks even better, but don't get use to the warmer temps...  Sorry!  Cooler air moves back into the region this weekend and we even have a chance of snow!

Fantastic Friday

We will still be under the influence of the High pressure tomorrow, so expect plenty of sunshine.  The ridge will slide to our east during the afternoon, while a cold front approaches from the west.  This will result in a tightening of the pressure gradient (squeezing the atmosphere), producing some gusty southwesterly winds between 15-30mph.  The southerly winds will help the temperatures climb to near 70!

Friday's gusty winds and low humidity will create dangerous burning conditions across the area, so please avoid any outdoor burning!

Friday's Forecast

Light Showers or Sprinkles

A weak cold front will swing through Kentuckiana overnight Friday-Early Saturday morning with a few showers or sprinkles.  They will be gone before most of us wake up Saturday.

Weekend Cool Down

Cooler air pushes into the region Saturday behind the cold front with afternoon highs in the mid 50s to near 60s

Rain/Snow Mix Saturday Night-Sunday Morning

Temps drop to the low and mid 30s overnight Saturday while a disturbance moves out of Arkansas.  Right now this system looks like it will stay to our south with a little mix falling over the KY/TN border.  But if it slides a little more to the north we could see that mix as far north as southern Indiana by early Sunday morning.

The good news is it will be moving fast and most of Sunday will remain dry, but chilly with highs only in the low 40s.

7 Day Forecast

The extended forecast is a bit of a weather roller coaster...  70 tomorrow, falling to a chilly 41 next Tuesday and climbing to the lower 60s by Thursday.

Hold on tight and enjoy Friday!
