This time last week we had just about the same conversation. Looks like another winter storm will be brewing late this week!
Right now the GFS model is just putting out around an inch of snow for our area. http://220.127.116.11/weather/snow/ksdf.txt But, that's what it had for us last time. It appears the storm will start off with rain Friday, then turn to a mix, then all snow late Friday through Saturday. It's way too early for accurate snowfall totals, but several inches could be possible in our area by next Saturday/Sunday. After a week of somewhat milder air, cold temperatures will return next weekend, with highs only in the upper 20s next Sunday. Always remember, a lot can change between now and then, but keep a close eye on the changing forecast this coming workweek!
Below you will find maps showing the rain/snow line over Kentuckiana late Friday. The second map shows all snow by early Saturday. Could we be saying, "Here we go again!"
