The 2009 Atlantic Hurricane has been a bit on the slow side.  But, Hurricane Ida got going during the Saturday night, currently churning through the Gulf of Mexico.  Ida is a strong Category Two hurricane. The only noticeable impact Ida will have on our weather will be an increase the wind Tuesday night through Wednesday, as the storms heads east through the Southeast.  It'll get a bit breezy, but nothing major.  The storm will weaken as it approaches the Gulf Coast early Tuesday.  You can track Ida with our cool, Global Storm Tracker at this site...

If you are keeping track, so far we have had only three hurricanes, the average by now is six.  A total of nine named storms, lower than the average of ten.
