Welcome to this week's The411.  Luke Whitehead worked hard on the basketball court for the Louisville Cardinals and now he's taking that passion to help our area youth and he's asking for the community's support.   In an effort to make sure area youth are equipped with the necessary supplies to start off the school year on a positive note, Mixed Nation Presents "The Luke Whitehead and Friends Back to School Drive". Whitehead has chosen to assist The Center for Women and Families. Luke says "The children at this center are going through a really tough transition and many times they've had to leave their homes with just the clothes on their backs. This is a great opportunity for us to share our blessings and make a difference."
On Thursday, August 16th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Luke and his friends (former UofL players and other special guests) will visit the center, talk to the youth, provide a meal and then distribute school supplies to each child staying at the center. If you would like to donate school supplies, gift cards, and/or food for the event, please call (415) 501-0342 or email BackToSchoolDrive@MixedNation.com. All donations are greatly appreciated for all grades (K-12).
In order to make the donation process as easy as possible we've created a wish list on the Wal-Mart website. Simply pick what you would like to buy for the kids or donate a gift card and we'll take care of the rest! For easy online donations, please click this link:

You can also drop off the supplies at The Center for Women and Families. Please be sure to tell them your donation is for "The Luke Whitehead and Friends Back to School Drive". The center is located at 927 S. 2nd Street #A, Louisville, KY 40203.
