FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- With Kentucky Senator Rand Paul doing everything that a presidential candidate would do three years away from the next election, it's becoming more difficult for him to avoid the question…will he run for president in 2016?
Rand Paul says the headlines about him are often wrong. But as he evolves as a national candidate, he fashions a message to make the Republican party more appealing to young people and stakes out political ground between the establishment Mitch McConnell and his Libertarian base. Thus making his presidential aspirations become clearer and clearer.
“…and I won't make any decision until 2014 or so,” Rand Paul said.
On the heels of his 13 hour solo filibuster on drones, Paul says he plans another filibuster in April to stop democrats' efforts on gun control.
He says he'll be joined by two other Tea Party senators.
