Rand Paul will be a solo act at the University of Louisville.
U.S. Senate primary rival Trey Grayson did not include a debate proposed by U of L's college Republicans in a list of five debates he released last week. Now, Andrew Carroll, UofL College Republicans Chairman, says the group "never received a response to the formal invitation we sent the Grayson campaign via mail." and now plans to have only Paul speak at the event on January 27. No word if any other GOP candidates (Bill Johnson?) have been invited.
Carroll, who has said he is not supporting either candidate, says Paul will speak at the Horn Auditorium (Room 106) of the College of Business on Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM.
"While the UofL College Republicans are disappointed that Secretary Grayson did not reply while he replied to other debate invitations, we will continue to invite the Secretary to various events at the University of Louisville throughout the year, including our annual bipartisan "Cards Decide Week" that we host with the College Democrats in which many candidates for office are invited to participate in various forums--he's always welcome to speak here."
