Thursday a big day in Kentucky politics

Big day ahead in Kentucky and Louisville politics:

7:30am - Indepedent mayoral candidate Jackie Green sets up shop on the sidewalk outside the Olmsted, where the doors are opening for a debate to which he is not invited to participate.

8:20am - First post-primary debate of 2010 Louisville mayors race between Democrat Greg Fischer and Republican Hal Heiner set to last 50 minutes.  Moderated by WDRB-TV General Manager Bill Lamb and hosted by the Commercial Council of the Home Builders Association of Louisville.

 10am - The Greater Louisville Project presents the 2010 Competitive City Report, with special guest Mayor Jerry Abramson and keynote speaker Carol Coletta, head of CEOs for Cities
 

6pm - Metro Council meeting. Council due to vote on 2010-11 budget

?pm - Anti-establishment, anti-Washington, anti-bailout Rand Paul fundraiser at - of all places -  the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington and hosted by Members of Congress, many of whom voted for the bailout.

Keep an eye on:  Atlanta police chief search expected to have a decision any day. Louisville Metro Police Chief Robert White is one of the contenders.

Not political but getting attention today: NBA Draft features several Kentucky Wildcats, Mixed Martial Arts at 4th Street Live, and the new iPhone goes on sale today.
