With the Jefferson County Public Schools' student assignment plan under scrutiny, voters have been reminded that the decision about the future of the plan lies in the hands of the school board. It makes the importance of this year's elections for the JCPS school board that much clearer.
Candidates for the District 1 representative seat on the Jefferson County School Board are scheduled to appear at a forum on Sunday from 4pm to 6pm at the Nia Center, 2900 West Broadway.
The forum is part of the University of Louisville - Yearlings Club Series and will be moderated by Dr. Blaine Hudson.
The candidates are Bonnie Lash Freeman, Phyllis Morton, Diane Porter and Attica Scott.
