LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Six days after the Alison Lundergan Grimes campaign launched its first attack ad of the U.S. Senate race, the Mitch McConnell campaign is working to remind Kentucky voters about it.
In a web video released Monday, McConnell's campaign counters Grimes' claims about McConnell's stance on Medicare policy with excerpts of last week's news coverage which uniformly reported that Grimes' commercial is misleading.
The one and a half minute video begins with the first 20 seconds of the Grimes ad, then proceeds with clips from local television stories and national fact-cheking wings of newspapers which reached similar conclusions about the commercial.
The McConnell campaign video, however, does not include any critiques of factual problems with McConnell's commercial produced in response to the Grimes ad.
Grimes' campaign released a web video of its own on Friday, reiterating its message of the week, that McConnell's voting record proves that he supports a Rep. Paul Ryan budget that would have privatized Medicare.
