LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- With Kentucky's U.S. Senate race a hot topic on social media, the Mitch McConnell campaign is adding extra incentives to promote his re-election online.

The Team Mitch campaign launched a promotion on Monday that rewards Internet activism with campaign swag such as bumper stickers and t-shirts.  The top six point-earners receive two tickets to attend a Louisville Bats game with McConnell in a private suite at Louisville Slugger Field.

"Senator McConnell is building a campaign that Kentucky can be proud of," said campaign manager Jesse Benton.  "We plan to lead on technology just like Senator McConnell leads for the Commonwealth, and use best practices that will leave Liberal Democrats in the dust."

Called "Mitch's Colonels," the promotion awards points for "netroots activity" over the next two and a half weeks through Fancy Farm weekend.
