The Courier-Journal's Dan Klepal reports that the gloves are coming off in the Republican primary for Louisville mayor. At a downtown forum, Wednesday, the presumed frontrunners Hal Heiner and Chris Thieneman questioned each other's records.
Metro councilman Hal Heiner came out swinging with his question to developer Chris Thieneman, who is a co-founder of The Mint Jubilee, a Derby-eve charitable event.
Heiner stated that the event lost $75,000 in 2004, before asking Thieneman: “How can we trust you to run our city’s $800 million budget when you failed to manage a charity?”

“I hate to pick on my friend Hal, but I’ll pick on him anyway,” Thieneman said, before asking “where were you” during government scandals involving allegations of financial mismanagement in the city’s housing department and Animal Control.
