LOUISVILE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The back and forth over fireworks in Louisville may be over after Mayor Greg Fischer vetoed the ordinance recently passed by the Metro Council on Thursday.
After Thursday's veto, more powerful and airborne fireworks like roman candles and bottle rockets will not be sold or used in Louisville.
The mayor says it's a public safety issue and the more powerful fireworks should be left to trained professionals.
Since June the council has changed fireworks ordinance four times.
