(WHAS11 Political Blog) -- The Courier-Journal has the latest Bluegrass Poll results which show a 51% job approval rating for U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and a 53% approval rating for U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.
Survey USA polled 606 likely Kentucky voters.
James Carroll reports:
The poll numbers for McConnell and Paul indicate no potential re-election problems, said Jennifer Duffy, a Senate analyst with the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.
“Any member who can get over 50 percent now is doing great,” she said. “Remember, Congress has a job approval rating of 12 (percent). … This is not a beloved group of people.”
Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, agreed, saying that the poll results for McConnell were like an early look at his support among voters against an unknown opponent in the 2014 Senate race.
