KDP: Paul a "disaster" whose support will plummet

An e-mail blast from the Kentucky Democratic Party warns of "disaster" striking with a Rand Paul Senate victory.  The KDP predicts that Paul's support will plummet once Kentuckians learn more about him.  Conversely, the Democrats  call Jack Conway "inspiring."

Message from the Kentucky Democratic Party:

Someone once observed that there are three kinds of people in the world. There are those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder: "What happened?"

Kentucky's Democrats only have five months to "make things happen" on Election Day - November 2, 2010. We cannot afford to apathetically stand around and watch this election unfold. We certainly cannot afford to be asking "what happened?" if disaster strikes and Rand Paul becomes the next U.S. Senator from Kentucky.

Jack Conway is an inspiring Democratic nominee, and we must immediately begin to build the foundation for his victory in November. You can help us make that happen.

When Kentuckians learn more about Rand and his irresponsibly extreme positions, his level of support in this state will plummet. Give KDP the tools to ensure that every Kentucky voter knows exactly what Rand stands for (or, rather, all the things he stands against).

Please contribute today: $100, $50, $25

The national attention has already focused on this race. The intensity will only increase because the stakes are so high. Rand holds radical, uninformed, and dangerous beliefs about government services. Kentuckians cannot afford Rand Paul.

Rand Paul would eliminate the financial aid your children depend upon for higher education and vocational training.

Rand Paul would allow businesses to discriminate against potential customers. Remember segregated lunch counters?

Rand Paul would offer no protections to disabled veterans seeking jobs and equal access to public facilities.

Rand Paul would destroy the Department Agriculture and its support for Kentucky farmers.

Rand Paul would eliminate the Department of Education, which sent funding to Kentucky last year to save 7,300 education jobs.

Rand Paul is against government regulation of business. Oil spills, mine disasters, financial meltdowns? Well, accidents do happen! Right, Rand?

Rand Paul wants to halt federal money that filters into Kentucky through subsidies and special projects. Apparently, Rand is unaware that Kentucky receives more aid in federal funds than it sends back to Washington.

Rand Paul says he wants "constitutional government", yet his views violate the U.S. Constitution because he favors denying the right of citizenship to babies born in this country regardless of the status of their parents.

However, there is one government program Rand Paul would protect: Medicare! Rand, an ophthalmologist, receives his income from Medicare. He says that 50% of his patients are on Medicare, and that physicians "have a right to make a comfortable living."

Kentucky deserves better than Rand Paul, but a recent poll showed him with a six point lead over Jack Conway. There is no time to waste. Please get involved and for Jack Conway. Whatever help you can provide is very much appreciated!

Thank you for your support!
