The e-mail being sent to Democrat Jim King's supporters:

Dear Friends,

I hope that you and your family are enjoying the Holiday Season.

I continue to feel humbled by the strong support I've received for my campaign. However, this week Debbie and I are calling on our friends, supporters, and staff to put aside the campaign and join us in lending a helping hand to those who need it most.

Instead of contributing to our campaign or volunteering at our Headquarters this week, Im asking for you to volunteer your time to a shelter or organization that helps those in need.

Today (Monday), I will be speaking with seniors at the Puritan about many issues, including poverty. Then on Tuesday, December 22nd, I will be meeting with community leaders who are on the frontlines fighting poverty and caring for those less fortunate. We will visit several homeless shelters and then take a tour of the back areas that are frequented by those living on the streets.

On Wednesday Dec 23rd, our family will take turkeys and baked goods to several kitchens that are in dire need. If you would like to donate a canned good or want to join me, you'e more than welcome. This is not a campaign event and there should be no campaigning at these shelters. Instead, I want my campaign supporters to reach out and give of our time, talent, and treasure to those who need us most. With our many supporters coming together this week, we can really do some good.

The difficulty of Louisville's challenges must be met with the determination of its people. Thank you for standing with me. After the holidays, I will continue to roll out many specific plans to address the issues that face our community.

Warm Seasons' Greetings,

Jim King
