LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Louisville Metro Councilman has been re-elected for a fourth straight year during their annual organizational session.

Councilman Jim King, who has served since 2010, says there are several issues to be addressed this year including the dealing of the ban of annexation and the budget.

King says being says by being re-elected, it shows other council members have faith in his ability to lead.

“Hopefully it gives me a passing grade and shows that I am doing the job they want me to and validates my performance the last several years,” he said.

King adds that he’s confident the council will come up with a budget surplus and will have money to spend in the city.

According to Metro Council, King is the only councilman to be elected president five times since Metro Council’s beginnings.

During the same session, H. Stephen Ott was re-elected as the Metro Council clerk.
