Just elected to a fourth term as Jefferson County Clerk, Bobbie Holsclaw made her higher aspirations official on Tuesday, the deadline to file for statewide office in 2011.
Holsclaw filed to run in Kentucky's governor's race and introduced her running mate -- Shawnee High School teacher and 30 year U.S. Navy veteran Bill Vermillion -- who compared his candidacy with that of Lt. Governor candidate Richie Farmer.
"I may not be able to dribble a basketball," Vermillion said "but I tell you what I can jump out of an airplane, carry an M1 on my side. I can hit the deck running and I'm not afraid of hard work."
Holsclaw faces Senate President David Williams and Louisville businessman Phil Moffett in the Republican primary.
