FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky Secretary of State and Democratic Senate challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes says she’s ready to debate Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the two go head-to-head in November over his seat.
Grimes’ campaign says she does have a few terms of her own.
They want to make sure hosts aren’t biased and that the debates are between her and Mitch McConnell without surrogates.
After their primary wins on May 20, McConnell challenged Grimes to three “Lincoln-Douglas” style debates meaning no audience, media, notes and props are allowed.
Both sides are looking to get together in the first part of June to work out details.
