Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jack Conway is the target of a new attack video by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
On the eve of Fancy Farm 2010, the NRSC's video makes full use of Conway's infamous 2009 Fancy Farm speech, in which he called himself "one tough son of a bitch" prompting the church picnic to implement a ban on profanity at future picnics.
The video opens with the words "wholesome" and "Christian values," with images of a girl blowing a dandelion, a family frolicking in the leaves, a young woman praying and the edifice of St. Jerome Catholic Church, the host parish of the picnic. Cut to video of Conway at the dais in 2009, labeled by the NRSC as "Eloquent Liberal Extraordinaire."
The NRSC mocks Conway's "tough" description, saying "he's not exactly tough when it comes to standing up to the liberal elites in Washington." The video cites Conway's appearances and fundraisers with trial lawyers in Canada and an environmental group meeting in Las Vegas. The contrast on the video has been altered, with the effect of making Conway's eyebrows bigger and President Obama's skin, darker.
