An interesting post script in the latest Conway e-mail blast to supporters shows that the campaign is already collecting contributions to count toward its September 7th "moneybomb" fundraiser.
In the e-mail, Conway says the Conway Fight Fund "is already an impressive $45,000 toward our $260,000 goal."
Not that there are any necessarily any rules to follow when any campaign is using such a gimmick, but this appears to be less money "bomb" than a traditional deadline with a set goal.
The focus of the e-mail was to call for the resignation of former U.S. Senator Alan Simpson from the deficit reduction commission, after an e-mail was revealed in which Simpson called Social Security "a milk cow with 310 million tits."
Rather than use offensive language to make headlines, Chairman Simpson should recognize that he serves as a distraction to the rest of the group and step down.
"I first called for Alan Simpson to resign yesterday, and hundreds of Americans have already joined me," Conway said in the e-mail with a link to an online petition.
