Coats NCAA bracket: Hoosiers win championship, big upsets

(WHAS11 Political Blog) -- U.S. Sen. Dan Coats (R-IN) picks the Indiana Hoosiers to defeat the Louisville Cardinals in the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, 72-69, in his bracket released to WHAS11.

Coats' picks for the FInal Four are Indiana, Louisville, Kansas and Ohio State.

The senator's bracket has Indianapolis' Butler University advancing to the Elite Eight against Indiana.  Coats predicts South Bend's Notre Dame University to win one game and northwest Indiana's Valparaiso University to lose in the first round.

Coats has a number of opening round upsets in his bracket:  14th seeded Davidson defeating Marquette, 13th seeded South Dakota State defeating Michigan, 12th seeded Oregon advancing past Oklahoma State, 12th seeded California to beat UNLV.
