An earlier post here on the WHAS11 political blog has been getting quite some attention elsewhere in the blogosphere, regarding the Rand Paul campaign's contact with the former campaign manager of the Mike Huckabee presidential campaign. While political operatives are aflutter about whether Chip Saltsman was ever hired by Paul, the underlying message for me is that the Paul campaign is thinking about how the religious right is receiving Paul's message.
What kind of job does Rand Paul have ahead of him to convince conservative Christian voters in the Republican primary that his libertarian brand of Republicanism is not in conflict with their own?
A Bill Johnson supporter and blogger who describes herself as a "genuine GOP mom," lays out the issues Paul must address, including his views on drug legalization, expanded gambling, and the role of the government in abortion law.
