Until Monday, the Cook Political Report had rated the race in Indiana's 9th District as "Lean" Democrat, but now has moved Baron Hill's seat into the “Toss Up” column.
Last week, a poll by the liberal Firedoglake blog showed Baron Hill trailing former Republican Congressman Mike Sodrel 49 percent to 41 percent.
At least two other Republicans are in the GOP primary, Orange County Deputy Prosecutor Todd Young and Columbus real estate investor Travis Hankins. As a result, the National Republican Congressional Committee cites the Firedoglake poll in news releases, but does not mention Sodrel by name.
