A surprise at today's filing deadline at the Kentucky Secretary of State's office. Otis "The Bullman" Hensley did not file for the Democratic gubernatorial primary after all. The Harlan County scrap metal dealer reportedly could not find his running mate.
Meanwhile, he was not the only potential candidate searching for a running mate.
Another mystery candidate on for the Democratic gubernatorial primary appeared at the office to file for the race, but did not have a Lt. Governor candidate with him, as required by Kentucky statute.
Ellis Keyes first asked if any members of the gathered media were registered Democrats and wanted to run with him, then began searching the capitol for a running mate after the journalists declined.
Keyes was later seen knocking on doors of Capitol neighbors in his search for a running mate.
