(WHAS11) -- Boxing great Muhammad Ali was in Philadelphia on Thursday night to receive the Liberty Medal.
It's an award recognizing his longtime role as a fighter for humanitarian causes, civil rights and religious freedom.
It comes with a $100,000 cash prize.
His wife Lonnie spoke on his behalf at the ceremony. Ali's been battling Parkinson's disease for 30-years. He lives most of the time in Phoenix, Ariz.
