(WHAS11 Political Blog) -- The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee isn't confirming it is recruiting Ashley Judd but ABC News' Shushannah Walshe reports that the DSCC says "whoever is the nominee in Kentucky is going to be incredibly well-funded and has a good chance of beating Mitch McConnell," noting the senator's mixed approval ratings.
ABC is the latest national news outlet to weigh in on the Judd speculation.
While sources told WHAS11 that Judd disclosed a Derby Day decision deadline to influential Democrats in Louisville, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth told ABC he expects a decision "very soon."
"My impression is this is something she wants to do, and she is now taking the time to make the contacts she needs to make throughout the state to try and generate commitments of support and in some cases fundraising," Yarmuth told ABC. "She is certainly acting like a candidate, a potential candidate."
