Steve Nunn charged with murder

nunnmug.jpgIt's official, former lawmaker and gubernatorial hopeful Steve Nunn is charged with the murder of his ex-fiance.

Here is the news release from Lexington Police:

On Friday, September 11, 2009 at approximately 06:30 a.m., the Division of Police responded to 541 West Short Street, Lexington, KY in reference to a shooting. The responding officers located an adult female white suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Amanda C. Ross and ruled this death a homicide.

On Monday, September 14, 2009 Investigators from the Division of Police obtained arrest warrants for the below listed subject. The warrants have been served and the subject is currently being held in the Hart County jail.

Stephen R. Nunn
Male
Glasgow, Kentucky
Date of birth: 11/04/1952
Charges: Murder and Violation of a Protective Order
