Late Show host David Letterman says he was the victim of an extortion attempt after he engaged in sexual affairs with several female staff members.
"This morning, I did something I've never done in my life. I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury," Letterman said during the taping of Thursday's show.
In Kentucky, the Letterman case will be sure to conjure comparisons to the pending extortion case against Karen Sypher, the woman Rick Pitino acknowledged to police with whom he had a sexual encounter several years ago.
