More shenanigans? Conway campaign hacked?

I just got off the phone with Jack Conway's campaign manager, Mark Riddle, who says that it appears someone has tried to hack into the campaign's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Click here for the pdf file supplied by the Conway campaign

Mark Riddle says a staff member who monitors the social networking of the campaign noticed what he thought was a phishing attempt on the Conway accounts. Riddle says he's "not aware that they succeeded," but that it "looks like they are trying to be a clone" of the website that hosted the first YouTube attack of Conway's challenger, Daniel Mongiardo.

While I had Riddle on the phone, I asked him to explain what appears to be a mixed message from Conway. In an interview with me on Tuesday, Conway disapproved of the efforts to surreptitiously tape Mongiardo criticizing Governor Steve Beshear. But, I asked how does Conway's disapproval of the YouTube attack videos jibe with the campaign statement that takes advantage of the tapes? "in light of his recent taped tirades against the Governor, it becomes increasingly difficult to see how he can sustain a successful campaign."

Riddle says that's "two different things," and that the campaign used the public record and it's "fair game to use press reports of the Lt. Governor saying harsh things about our Governor."
