LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The411 with Sherlene Shanklin:  The state of Kentucky never gets tired of basketball.  From high school to college and now professional.  Yes, I said professional at least for one night.  The KFC Yum! Center will host for the first time a National Basketball Association, (NBA) game.  It's the Miami Heat against the New Orleans Pelicans in a preseason game.

The exhibition game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 4th.  Fans will get to see players like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen on the Heat.  Pelicans fans will get up close to former University of Kentucky stars Anthony Davis and Darius Miller.

This all-star roster of athletes with pack the 20,000 plus seats in the KFC Yum! Center.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m.

The KFC Yum! Center has achieved great success since opening in 2010 by attracting high profile events to Louisville. The arena was ranked 65th worldwide and 32nd in the U.S. in Pollstar Magazine’s 2012 year-end Top 200, recognizing arenas for concert and show ticket sales.
