The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: When the leaves begin to fall you know it’s the change of the season but do you know when your season in life is about to make a peak? Some people are not ready when it happens and opportunities slip away. It’s just like the season we are in which is “Fall”. We have no control over it but we need to be ready when it happens. That also holds true to your career. On Tuesday, November 20th at the Holiday Inn, 1325 S. Hurstbourne Pkwy in the Carriage Room, emerging entrepreneurs will talk about preparing for your season for success. Tickets for the event are only $25 per person.
Jackie Bailey-Wayne, the host and title sponsor for the event says “It’s all about empowering businesses and community leaders. “When The Seasons Change” motivational event features Ardyss Millionaire & AMC and BET Reality Show Star Jewel Tankard, consultant, self-development coach lecturer and radio talk show host Ona Brown and myself Sherlene Shanklin.
The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Businesses will have an opportunity to network by reserving a table on the exterior of the Carriage Room. They are $50 and you get one ticket to enter the event. If you would like to have a table inside the room, you can purchase one for $100, which includes stage recognition and a grab bag. This is a good place to promote your product and/or services. The vendor bazaar runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Chiquita Lindsay, co-host of the event and Ardyss entrepreneur says “This is the type of event people need right now. The presenters will talk about the person as a whole, the total you. It will be a mind, body, and soul type of event where people will walk away feeling rejuvenated and recharged.”

Ona Brown, a Kentucky native, self-development coach, successful consultant and daughter of motivational speaker and author Les Brown is happy to return home. She encourages others to be leaders in their field and to stay at least two steps ahead. “It’s difficult season to go through change when you are behind with dated technology and the new global economy. I will discuss the tools required to accomplish your personal and professional goals. I will help you identify the missing ingredients that are required in order to be successful and a well-rounded person.
Sherlene Shanklin, works at WHAS11 Television where she created a huge niche for herself with The411. The entertainment/community affairs television segment and blog can be seen weekly. She also owns a successful Public Relations, and Marketing firm. “It’s important to be a part of events like this because future leaders need to know that our businesses were not overnight successes. It took a lot of patience, knowledge of the field, education, a thick skin and a lot of sleepless nights to get to this point. I’m in a marathon race and not a sprint.”
Jewell Tankard is no stranger to success and motivating others. The Ardyss Millionaire has inspired thousands of people. Because of her tenacity and ambition. Tankard is adding reality show star to her extensive resume. She will discuss that new endeavor and having cameras capture her every move. Tankard says “The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary-Now go get it”.
This is an event you don’t want to miss. It will be inspirational, motivational, and informative. WMJM, Magic 101.3FM’s Herlon Robinson will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event.
Chef K will also address the group by talking about healthy eating. He will discuss intake, portion control and healthy alternatives for those with high blood pressure and type II diabetes.
