The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: Kenneth Ryan Anthony better known to his fans as R. Prophet will be in court Friday in a Hardin County, Kentucky. The hip-hop star was arrested April 20th of this year, after police say he allegedly resisted arrest at a traffic checkpoint. Anthony was coming from a concert in the Elizabethtown area and was enroute back to Louisville when officers say they had to taser and pepper spray the star. Anthony was taken to the hospital and then booked into the Hardin County Jail.
R. Prophet, an Oakland, California native relocated to Louisville, Kentucky in 1985. He attended Western Kentucky University in 1997 and that's when the rap/hip-hip group Nappy Roots was formed. The Grammy-nominated group is known for his like "Po Folks" featuring Anthony Hamilton, "Headz Up" and "Awnaw" to name a few. R. Prophet went solo several years ago and is currently working on several projects where he performs all over the U.S.
