The Mellwood Arts Council will hold the Second Saturday Demo Day on Saturday, May 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. They are located at 1860 Mellwood Avenue.

Church Women United is sponsoring May Friendship Day, Saturday at Beulah Presbyterian Church on Bardstown Road.  Registration is at 10:00 a.m.  This year's theme is "Listening To My Sisters".  

The Muhammad Ali Center is hosting a photo contest.  It's called More Than A Word.  Entries will be judged on theme, originality, technical merit and subject matter.  You have until May 15th to turn in your photos.  You can mail and/or drop off your submission at the Muhammad Ali Center.  You can win up to $250 in cash prizes.  

The Metro Disability coalition is holding their 13th Annual Breaking Barriers Spotlight Awards Ceremony, Monday, May 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Metro United Way.  
They will recognize individuals with challenging disabilities that have shown outstanding service and commitment to the community and peers.  

There's several events going on in honor of Mother's Day, including the Belle of Louisville Mother's Day Cruise this Sunday. Patrons will board at 1:30 p.m. and the cruise is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more info call 574-2992.
