The411: When there's an event in Kentucky many call upon DB Bourbon Candy to provide a sweet treat for their guests. Robyn Stuart of Frankfort runs a very successful home business based on an original candy recipe her mother Johnnye Smallwood Cunningham created. Cunningham would make the bourbon balls rolled in powered sugar during the holidays. When Cunningham died in 2002, her daughter Robyn stepped right in to carry on the family tradition.
Today, the business has 38 different flavors other than her traditional bourbon balls. DB Bourbon Candy has expanded to chocolate covered grapes, pineapples and strawberries. This past Kentucky Derby they introduced a bourbon cheesecake. It was a hit at "The Slice". Other events DB Bourbon Candy has participated in "The Gala", "The Grand Gala", "100 Black Men Annual Derby Gala", "Barnstable-Brown Derby Gala," "All White Derby Eve Party", and the "Ivy Promotions & VIPP Communications Pre-Derby All Star Jam".
