The411: Today, the University of Louisville had a special guest in celebration of International Women's Day. Actress/activist Ruby Dee was the guest speaker for the University of Louisville 38th National Conference on the Black Family. The Vice Provost for Diversity and International Affairs welcomed Dee this morning where she spoke on "Social Justice through the Arts". I was not able to attend today's event but a photo was submitted by photographer James Bennett.
The photo is of Ruby Dee on the left and Ambassador Shabazz on the right. Shabazz is the eldest daughter of the late Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz.
I was also told that Dee will be at the Muhammad Ali Center tonight for another event.
Both events are co-sponsored by the U of L Muhammad Ali Institute for Peace and Justice, Cultural Center, International Center and Women's Center.
If you have photos you want to share from both events send them to The411@whas11.com.
