The Milton-Madison Bridge on US 421 over the Ohio River reopened at around 2 p.m. on Sunday after it was closed late Friday night by law enforcement officials.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) bridge engineers completed their inspection and recommended that the bridge post a three ton weight limit.
The bridge was closed late Friday evening by law enforcement on both sides of the river after calls regarding safety concerns on the bridge were received through the Madison, Ind. 911 system.
Motorists reported seeing metal falling off the bridge. An initial review did not show anything out of the ordinary.
