Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - This unique relationship between 16-year-old male high school student V.J. Hudson and his 59-year-old big brother David Moser centers around one word - golf.
They've been at it for four years, and V.J. has turned into an amazing putter.
David has worked nearly 40 years at Cross Motors in Louisville. He's the general manager and will never forget one thing early on in this match, “Initially when I was picking him up he’d always be at the front door waiting for me, anticipating that maybe I wouldn’t show up. One thing that I’ve stressed that your word means something and when I say I’m going to show up, I’m going to be there. Now if I’m going to be just a few minutes late, I always call.”
The payoff has been this for V.J., “I feel I’m doing more mature things now and my grades are good, I’ve got a 4.0.”
V.J. would like to play college golf.
David says he's a real contender for the game and in life.
Footnote: Remember the biggest need at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Kentuckiana is for men volunteers. More young boys and teenage boys are on the waiting list than any other age group.
