(WHAS11) - Josh McCullough and 13-year-old Isaiah just met nine months ago as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters Outreach to southern Indiana.

McCullough is working to make sure Isaiah doesn't get bogged down with video games and other distractions so he taught him how to cook.

McCullough, a New Albany resident, said that once it gets warmer, he plans to take Isaiah outdoors more and find him a sport that he can embrace for his future health.

There are 128 active matches in southern Indiana, but 62 young people are on the waiting list.

If interested in participating in the program, call 1-877-588-2300.
