LOUISVILLE, Ky. (News Release) -- With more than 3,000 registered participants, the Louisville Sports Commission Half Marathon presented by HumanaVitality and Louisville pure tap® 5K went off Saturday morning under cool and clear skies at race start; with intermittent showers during the race.
Michael Eaton of Louisville, Ky., won the men's Half Marathon in a time of 1:09:52.29, beating second place finisher Luke Lovelace of Louisville, Ky., who clocked a time of 1:10.07.00. Holly Knight of Louisville, Ky., won the women’s Half Marathon in 1:20:08.71, edging Alicia Heyne of Louisville, Ky., who finished in 1:28:34.24.
In the 28-team Sam Swope Fiat Corporate Challenge, Kentucky Employee Health Plan Team 1 finished first in a total time of 4:11:53.49; Humana Team 1 finished second in 4:34:31.22.
In the Louisville pure tap® 5K, Tony Cotner of Louisville, Ky., won the men's division in a time of 19:06.03, beating second-place finisher Robert Carter of Louisville, Ky., who clocked a time of 19:22.86. Shannon Knabel, won the women’s division in 19:16.55, edging Andrea Gibson of Charlestown, Ind., who finished in 21:53.76.
