WHAS11 Photojournalist Michael Driver was just named 2010 NPPA Central General Photographer of the Year. They’re calling him the “comeback kid” because he didn’t even enter the first quarter of the contest, but had enough points to be awarded the title.
The NPPA quarterly contest recognizes outstanding work performed by television and online video photojournalists on a quarterly basis. Driver competed against other photojournalists in 26 different states in the Central General region from places like Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa and Alabama.
Michael Driver attributes his recent success to those closest to him. ”I am truly honored and blessed to have won,” said Driver, “Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported the craft I am proud to call my career.”
Driver joined the WHAS11 Television News team in April 2010 and we are glad he’s a part of the team.
