LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Thanks to two local entrepreneurs the WHAS Crusade for Children is now part of the latest trend – “there's now an app for that” great Kentuckiana cause!

Brian Wesley and Teague Ridge of Talgrace Marketing developed the new app for mobile devices that will bring the Crusade’s message to a new generation and allow donations to be made directly from a tablet or smartphone.

"We felt like it would be a great fit.  Everything's going mobile these days so we just felt like it would be a great fit and a really good partnership in working with the Crusade," Wesley said.

Ridge said the app development was an outlet for his creative side. He designed the characters and wrote an e-book featuring a group of young heroes called the Crusade Squad.

"Brian and I both have young children and we wanted to be able to explain to our kids exactly what the Crusade is and we figured the best way to do it would be in an e-book function," Ridge said.
From e-book to donation page to a crusade quiz and puzzle, Wesley and Ridge have packed the new app with lots of interactive functions.
"The WHAS Crusade for Children smartphone app is incredible.  It really brings the crusade for children into the 21st century and hopefully will introduce us to a whole new generation," WHAS Crusade for Children CEO Dawn Lee said.

The Crusade app is available for free.  If you have an android device just go to the Google Play
Store, i-Phone users go to the Apple store.

Don’t forget - The 60th Annual WHAS Crusade for Children is next month, June 1 and 2.
