LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- More than 200 volunteers took time out of their schedule Friday to build a new playground at St. Vincent De Paul.

The project is part of a program called "Let's Play." It's a community partnership led by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group in conjunction with the non-profit KaBoom. The goal is to build or fix up at least 2,000 playgrounds across North America by the end of the year. It's a $15 million plan.

The new playground is based on the drawings of the kids that will be using it. St. Vincent De Paul currently houses more than 60 formerly homeless children.  They are always in need of volunteers. If you'd like to help, visit the following website: http://www.svdplou.org/
