’re making it easier for you to watch WHAS11News ON YOUR SIDE!

Viewers told us they were tired of flickering graphic animations that added nothing to the story they were watching.  Now our new, easy-to-read graphic design actually helps you watch the news.

Here’s how:

The first line of type tells you what’s happening right now.  If you have the sound turned down, or if you just walked into the room, the first line will tell you exactly what’s happening on the screen.

The second line of type tells you what’s coming up next.  If there’s a story you’re interested in, the second line will tell you when to expect it.  Those stories are also color coded to help you find exactly the kind of news you want, and see when it’s coming up:

  • Blue – General News
  • Bright Red – Breaking News
  • Yellow - Weather
  • Green – Money
  • Purple – Life
  • Orange – Technology
  • Dark Red – Sports

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a ticker of all the latest news from WHAS11.

The time and temperature are always in view. You’ll find it in the right hand corner of the screen.

We’ve put all the storytelling information you need in the “information system”, the bottom third of the screen which opens the screen up to give you as much video content as possible. We hope this cleaner approach to the news will enhance your viewing experience.

We know this is a big change, but are here to help you get used to the new look. Click here for more information about the new look click here for a tutorial video.

Our goals with the new design are to help you get more out of the newscast and to make the screen as clean as possible to enhance your viewing. We know the change is a lot to get used to but we hope you’ll keep watching and come to love our new look.

Thank you for watching WHAS11 NEWS ON YOUR SIDE!
