It’s Mardi Gras in Louisiana and festivities are in full swing. Even comedian Will Ferrell got into the spirit Sunday as he took the helm of the Krewe of Bacchus parade float in New Orleans. The Saturday Night Live alum served as King of Bacchus, and looked every bit the part. Ferrell has been in the big easy filming “The Campaign” with Zach Galifianakis.
Paris Hilton just got richer. According to People magazine the celebrity socialite won 30-thousand dollars playing blackjack in Las Vegas over the weekend. Hilton was dealt the winning hands while celebrating her thirty-first birthday in Sin City. The party-girl tweeted "birthday girl’s luck. I love gambling."
Is actress Lindsay Lohan set to play Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime television movie? No word for sure yet and Lohan's rep told CNN "nothing has been signed." Rumors have been swirling for a while about Lohan and the Taylor role, but so far, no definite announcement has been made. As for something that is for sure, Lohan will host an episode of "Saturday Night Live" slated for March 3.
Have you heard about this? One day after tying the knot in Hawaii, Elizabeth Smart was photographed flaunting her brand new wedding ring while holding hands with hubby Matthew Gilmour. The pictures of the couple are the first seen since the two married on Saturday. Smart made headlines back in 2002 when, at age 14, a man kidnapped from her home and held her captive for nine months.
Items from Whitney Houston’s "The Bodyguard" wardrobe will soon be up for sale in the "Hollywood Legends" auction. A floor-length gown and pearl earrings are just some of the items worn by the late pop-star in her 1992 breakout film. The auction is scheduled for the end of March.
And finally, retailers say there's another sign the recession is ending - men are buying again. Not only are they buying again, but they're doing something women have for years, accessorizing! According to the New York Times, men are buying bracelets, bags, hats and umbrellas this year. Forecasters are predicting a 20-year high in sales for men's clothing and accessories.
