LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Press Release) - - TARC once again is providing service to the Kentucky State Fair from downtown Louisville to the fairgrounds for the duration of the fair, which begins on Aug. 16 and lasts until Aug. 26.

Buses will depart every hour and ten minutes (70 minutes) from 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. from the stop at Fifth and Market Streets downtown to the fairgrounds. The last bus from the fairgrounds to downtown Louisville leaves at 12:10 a.m. daily.  Passengers should look for the buses displaying the digital sign reading, “2 Fairgrounds.” The first morning trip will arrive at Gate 4; all other trips will use Gate 6 to enter the fairgrounds.

Additional TARC service near the fairgrounds is available on Crittenden Drive (Route 2) and Preston Highway (Route 18), but those buses will not enter the fairgrounds.

Regular TARC fares apply on all trips. A one-way adult trip costs $1.75, students ages 6-17 and seniors with a TARC ID can ride for 80 cents and children 5 and under are free. TARC trips do not include admission to the fair, which is collected after the bus enters the fairgrounds. Adults pay $10 for fair admission; children ages 3-12 and seniors ages 55 and older pay $6.
