Celebration held for Elvis at his grandfather's gravesite in Louisville

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - August is the month that Elvis died in Memphis Tennessee in 1977 and this time of year produces nostalgic feelings for the King of Rock and Roll among his fans.
 
On Monday, there was a special celebration of Elvis' connection to Kentucky and Jefferson County.

Elvis' grandfather is buried in Louisville.


The local Elvis fans chose a very significant name for their club.
 
Blue Moon of Kentucky was the second song that Elvis ever recorded for Sam Phillips’ Sun Records in Memphis.
 
It was the flip side of "That's Alright."
