LOUISVILLE, KY (October 16, 2013) -- Due to the current Federal Government Shutdown, LIHEAP (the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) in Jefferson County is suspended until further notice.

Effective immediately, pre-registration scheduled during the remainder of October has been canceled.

The shutdown has caused a lapse in appropriations for the LIHEAP Subsidy Phase. This lapse of funding has caused Louisville Metro Department of Community Services and Revitalization (CSR) to make the difficult decision to stop the LIHEAP Subsidy pre-enrollment process and furlough seasonal staff.

As soon as a reinstatement of LIHEAP is confirmed, more information will be made available.
