LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - Qannik (pronounced "Kun-nik") the polar bear at the Louisville Zoo turned one-year-old on Saturday. She was rescued from the north slopes of Alaska and taken to the Zoo last year.
Zoo keepers celebrated by making a special ice cake filled with fruit and seafood. While Qannick enjoyed her cake, zoo guests sang "Happy Birthday" to the cub.
Zoo keepers say she is doing well, is at a healthy weight, and is interacting well with the other polar bears.
