LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Plum Pretty may have won the Oaks, but she had some serious competition at Churchill Downs Friday.

There were a lot of pretty ladies out at the track; many of them wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

WHAS11’s Mike Colombo was at Churchill Downs where there was no shortage of racing fans all decked out in their Derby best.

From the air and on the ground, Oaks Day was a thing of beauty; the third largest crowd in Oaks history, aided by the weather.   Speaking of beauty, super model Nikki Taylor was looking for handicapping advice.  “We’re just talking about horses, we’re like whose everybody picking?” said Taylor

Nikki, I think I know a few guys who’d be happy help you decide.  While she tried to pick a favorite, we asked other race goers their favorite parts of Oaks Day.

And after a long day at the Downs, how relieving to get a shuttle ride home; others weren’t so lucky.

It wasn’t just passengers; some shuttle drivers were having tough luck.  Other decided to bypass the trip home and continue the party.

The best part?  Still another day of fun as Derby 137 rolls on.
