Opportunities to honor veterans for Memorial Day

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - There are plenty of opportunities to honor veterans this Memorial Day weekend. Here are just a small few. 

Highland Memory Gardens

Everyone is invited to attend a ceremony at the Highland Memory Gardens on Bardstown Road in Mount Washington, Ky.

The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter is hosting the event at 2 p.m. on May 25.

Clarksville War Memorial

Clarksville, Ind. will host a Memorial Day ceremony at the Clarksville War Memorial on Broadway Street. It will begin at 2 p.m.

The service will include a military guard honor and a 21-gun salute. 

American Legion

The American Legion in Jeffersontown will host a ceremony at 6 p.m. on May 25.

All are invited to attend, and it will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Park on Taylorsville Road. 

Cavehill Cemetery

The Veterans of Foreign Wars District 6 will be hosting a ceremony to honor the fallen soldiers buried at Cavehill Cemetery.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and is expected to end about noon. Guests should provide their own seating, if they so choose.

The event will feature a 21-gun salute, a wreath dedication and more.
